UNIQUE, PATENTED INTERLOCK SYSTEM

Mosaic Miro l Stones of Eden has developed a special interlock system to process the mats. The mats can be linked to one another really easily to create a seamless pattern. In this way, anyone can create the most beautiful mosaic floors without any obvious tile pattern. See as well at application

A valuable tip for an optimum effect

The patented interlock system offers the option to lay the mats together overlapping, which creates a “half stone” joint. We recommend this method of laying for an optimum result. The edge joint should be set square to the direction from which the work will be looked at most. You can choose any direction at will. If carried out correctly, the tile pattern is invisible after grouting.

The right start

Define the direction from which the room concerned is usually experienced. The line of the edge joint must differ as much as possible from that direction. The optimum is achieved if the edge joint is square to the direction from which it is usually looked at (see the illustrations in ‘Laying instructions’).

The system

Thanks to the multi-fitting shape, the system offers the option to push the mats into one another. In contrast to ‘normal’ tiles, one can define the direction in which the Mosaic Miro products are worked completely at will. After laying, a pattern may be apparent at the edge joint. But with a little extra care this can be avoided. Mosaic Miro products need to be laid meticulously for an optimum final result. Read more under ‘Laying instructions’.

Making to size

The mats can be sawn to make the surface fit precisely to size. To do so, use a ruler (to define the size and draw the line) and a grinding disc or wet saw. If necessary, smoothen the ground edges using steel wool.

Important tip

The edge joint may remain more or less visible between two rows of ‘tiles’. In that case use a sharp knife to cut a few strategically chosen stones clear of the mat and turn them in one direction. This breaks up any still visible edge joint. By turning a few stones once it will vanish completely, which will create an optimum ‘random’ pattern.
